Device-Based Blocking on iPhone

To block a number on an iPhone

  • Go to the Phone app and recent calls
  • Click on the info icon next to the number you wish to block
  • Then scroll down and click “Block this Caller

Device-Based Blocking on Android

To block a number on an Android phone:

  • Go to the Phone app, select the number you want to block.
  • Click on the three dots in the upper-right corner.
  • Then select “Block number.”

Carrier-based blocking

a. T-Mobile Offers free scam call blocking; Scam Shield program

To activate it:

  • Dial #662# from your phone

b. Verizon Offers free scam call blocking

To activate it:

  • Go to the Verizon Call Filter app
  • Turn on “Block all spam calls

c. AT&T Offers a call blocking service called Call Protect

To activate it:

  • Download the Call Protect app from the App Store or Google Play
  • Follow the prompts

Do Not Call Registry

  • Register for the National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov to reduce telemarketing calls.
  • It won’t block all scam calls, but it can help.

Third-party apps

Truecaller: Free Android and IOS App with optional premium service.

To use it:

  • Sign up on their website
  • Follow the prompts to set it up.

To use it:

  • Sign up on their website.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the setup process.

To use it :

  • Sign up for an account on the Nomorobo website
  • Follow the prompts to set it up.
