Device-Based Blocking on iPhone
To block a number on an iPhone
- Go to the Phone app and recent calls
- Click on the info icon next to the number you wish to block
- Then scroll down and click “Block this Caller”
Device-Based Blocking on Android
To block a number on an Android phone:
- Go to the Phone app, select the number you want to block.
- Click on the three dots in the upper-right corner.
- Then select “Block number.”
Carrier-based blocking
a. T-Mobile Offers free scam call blocking; Scam Shield program
To activate it:
- Dial #662# from your phone
b. Verizon Offers free scam call blocking
To activate it:
- Go to the Verizon Call Filter app
- Turn on “Block all spam calls”
c. AT&T Offers a call blocking service called Call Protect
To activate it:
- Download the Call Protect app from the App Store or Google Play
- Follow the prompts
Do Not Call Registry
- Register for the National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov to reduce telemarketing calls.
- It won’t block all scam calls, but it can help.
